Meet Yokari
When I was 18 years old, I took a gap year in Senegal. I lived there for about eight months, from September 2017 until April 2018.
I had just graduated from high school. My parents didn't go to college, or even high school, so I was unfamiliar with the process. I didn't know what a gap year was, but I knew it was what I needed.
That being said, during my gap year, to cope with the homesickness and make sense of my life thus far, I began writing my first book, Margarita.
I had no idea what I was doing when I first started writing the book. I didn't even know that it was going to become a book. It just sort of took on a life of its own. Before I knew it, it was five years later, and I had finally finished my first book.
Today, I am a self-published author, I've travelled to 15 countries, and I have a bachelor's degree in social work (BASW) from Rutgers University–Camden. I am an artivist born and raised in Lenapehoking (Camden, NJ), and an Afro-Indigenous Taino woman from Ayiti-Kiskeya-Bohio.
I feel humbled and honored to be able to radiate higher with you all.
Thank you so much for your support!
With Love,
Yokari

Radiate Higher
When you transform yourself, you transform your life.
My name is Yokari, and I created Radiate Higher because I wanted to personally transform my life and help others do the same.
One day I realized that if I didn't transform myself, my life would continue to remain the same, and I would continue to remain unhappy.
Einstein said it best, "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.”
So I decided to create Radiate Higher—a movement, a call to action, and a community—because ultimately that's what I was trying to do in my own life—radiate higher.
As I always say, to radiate higher is a choice, but one that doesn't have to be made alone.
Join the soul tribe, and let's start #RadiatingHigher together 🦋✨
